Tom Sawyer chapters (takes a deep breath) 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and 35.
Well, that was a tough one to say. Okay, where do I start, ah yes, chapter 12. Okay, so after Tom finds out that Becky Thatcher (a.k.a new girl) doesn't like him anymore, Tom is sad. More than sad, I should say. Um... what's the right word, oh yeah, completely and utterly dead to the world. He does not play with his schoolmates, he does not go fishing, or swimming, or anything else for that matter. His aunt tries EVERYTHING to get him better. She tries hot baths, cold baths, hot baths with oatmeal, medicine, and anything else they had back then. Just when she was about to give up, pain-killer was invented. Tom described it as "As if aunt lit a fire under me." Or something like that. Tom became obsessed with it, and became a nuisance. Along came Tom's cat all bored and such. I think his name was Henry. Oh well, no matter. Tom gave him a dose of pain killer. Oh, how that cat flew! He went tearing down the house, knocking over vases, pots, pans, tables, and everything else! Finally, he went through the window, just as his aunt came in. She saw the cat, the Tom sitting on the floor laughing uncontrollably. She was about to scold him for scaring the cat, when he said that he only gave Peter, that's his name, Peter! So he said he gave Peter a dose of pain killer only because he hasn't had any yet. And because he wanted some. That is the end of chapter 12.
