Call of the Wild 3
In this chapter, Buck is told to jump a canyon by his master, John Thompson. He did it because he trusted him so much. Buck saved John's life when they went rafting. John was in the boat and he was trying to make it not capsize but he hit a rock and the boat launched him into the river. Buck saw it and rushed to the rescue. When Buck jumped in, he swam to John and he grabbed on. On the way back, John slipped and then hit a rock and held on. Buck got strings tied around him and jumped in. He missed the 1st time bu the 2nd time, he got him. At a bar, John was standing and a guy pushed him. Buck leaped up and bit the guy on the arm, then the throat. Another time is when John made a bet for $1000 that Buck could pull 1000 lbs on a sled. Buck made it slowly but when he did make it, everybody was happy.

There is a part after the attack in the bar when it says that Thorton cursed Buck a lot. Why do you think he would do that after he just won him money?

ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be great to have a dog that is so faithful and loves you like Buck did? But wouldn't it be more wonderful if people were this true to their friends and family. What a great world we would live in.
