Tom Sawyer Chapters 3 and 4

Chapter 3, Tom is at his house telling his aunt that he finished the fence. When she saw that it was done, she took him to the pantry and let him have an apple. On his way out, when she wasn't looking, he stole a doughnut. He went for a walk after that and he passed a pretty little girl's house. She was gardening so, like any boy would do if he saw a cutie, started showing off. Uh..not that I do that sometimes. Changing the subject. So he showed off for a while, then she went inside. Right before she stepped on her porch, she threw a flower over the fence for him. He picked it up with his foot while balancing a piece of straw on his nose. Later that night, at dinner, he tried to steal sugar right under his aunt's nose. He got in trouble, and when Sid reached for the bowl, he dropped it and it broke. When his aunt came back in the room, she saw the mess and started hitting Tom. He put on an innocent face on and fake cried. He just wanted to make his aunt sad that she had hit him when he didn't even do it. Later that night, he went in a raft down a stream and thought about how everybody would be so sad if he drowned. He went to the little girl's house and laid down in front of her window to die. The next part I didn't really get, but I think that her mom saw him and thought he was a burglar. She shot a bullet into the air to scare him off.

Chapter 4: When Tom woke up that morning, Sunday, he had to take a bath. He wouldn't take one, so his sister, I think, washed him. He had to get into very uncomfortable cloths. At church, there is a contest, if you memorize 2000 verses in the Bible, you would get a free Bible. Tom traded stuff for tickets, which you can also trade for a Bible. He traded so much, that he had enough to get one. When he went up to redeem his Bible, he was asked who was the first prophet, or something like that, and he said, "DAVID AND GOLIATH!"
