Summer of the Monkeys 3

In this chapter, Jay finally catches a monkey. The leader, Jimbo, did not like it so he ordered all the other monkeys to attack him and Roudy. While they were fighting, Jimbo releases the monkeys that were caught.  It also talks about when Jay and Roudy go find the monkeys and try to talk to them. Jay offeres Jimbo an apple and they became friends, or so Jay thought. It was at a wisky still and all the monkeys were drunk. Jay was practically forced to drink some sour mash. Sour mash is the mashed up grain that is taken out of wiskey. Jake fell asleep and when he woke up, his cloths were taken. He figured out he was drunk and his sister wanted to help him so she doctored him. When he was all better, he went to his grandpa's store to figure out what to do next.

  1. Who would you be more afraid of; the monkey handing you some sour mash or your mom when you had to tell her you got drunk and lost your pants?

  2. Grandma Brimhall said when she used to read this book to her school classes, this part was their very favorite of the entire book. Sorry you ended up hearing part of the ending while doing research on the author. Luckily it didn't tell you ALL of the ending. Keep reading to find out everything.

  3. I would probably be more scared of the mom part. After all, she can do more than a monkey. A mokey can't grond me for life.
