Talk

Today, I watched the talk from Elder Steven E. Snow. His talk was on hope. He said he grew up in Utah and his ward would pray and even fast for rain. One day, there was a old man, and his 5 year old grandchild. They were at a store, and this stranger walked  up to them, pointed at a small cloud, and said, "Think it's going to rain?" The old man said "I sure do hope. But not for me. For the boy. I've already seen rain."  Another story was that this old woman had 8 children. One of them ran out of money and had to move to Utah. Even though he didn't have much money, he still payed for his mother to cross the plains. She was 72, and she made it half way when she died. Elder Snow said that she died with here facing towards Utah. She was really dedicated to getting all the way there.

Q: What is a childhood sound? What was it? When did you hear it? What does it bring to your mind?

A: A childhood sound of mine would have to be the soft hum of electric motorcycles. I usually heard it outside during lunchtime, or in the morning. It brings a memory of when me and Tyler raced, me on a pedal bike, and him on the motorcycle. The motorcycle went only 20 mph. but I still won.

What do you think brings good or bad luck?
Let's see. Lots of things for both. For good luck there is a horseshoe (You have to hang it above your door with the curve down or else all the good luck would fall out.) A penny heads up, a 4 leafe clover, a rabbit's foot, throwing salt over your shoulder, and things you want, lucky underwear, lucky jewlry, etc. For bad luck there is touching a rattlesnake's rattle, a black cat crossing your path, walking under a ladder, killing a bee, and a ton of other stuff.

Gulliver's travles

Today in Gulliver's Travels, it said that Gulliver was getting weaker because he was not very well fed. They would give him a sliver of meat every 4 days. That kept him barely alive. Even how poorly he was fed, he still had to preform for other people. The master saw how weak Gulliver was, and he sold him. The master thought Gulliver was going to die in a couple of weeks so he sold Gulliver for 1,000 pieces of gold. His new master, the Queen, fed him daily, gave him water, let him preform whenever he wanted, and made a house and cloths for him. His house was a doll house with really soft cloth sewn on the sides, carpet, and roof to keep him from getting hurt when they were on a horse. His bed was a bean bag, and very comfortable. He asked the Queen how long he had been on that island, and she said about a year. That makes about 2 or 3 years he has been gone from his homeland.

Question: What kind of music do you like? Any memories associated with specific music?
Answer: I like country, some classic, and rock. I don't like heavy metal. It is so loud and annoying. There is one time, in Arizona, me and my friend, Tyler, were bored so we took his radio, some lemonade, a table, and some chairs and we had a lemonade stand. We were out there all day listening to country music. We also earned around $5 Then we split the money, and bought some beef jerky.
